Heroes of the Hour

Another week of fantasy football wins becoming losses in last-minute thrillers.

Before I dip into my bag of rants, I want to give a shoutout to all the veterans of the United States military, Monday was Veteran’s Day, and we saluted our heroes on the podcast, but I want to double-down on patriotism here for the vets. We love you. Thank you for your service.

Few things in hobby sports are as heart-breaking as watching a fantasy football win slip away in the final moments of a game. The pain of defeat stings that much more when the Witching Hour assassinates your chances of winning in the dwindling minutes of a Monday Night matchup. Curse that meaningless 20-yard pass that does nothing for the actual NFL team’s chances of winning but ends yours. Curse the blocked field goal. Curse the interception. The defensive stand. The fumblerooskie. The garbage time touchdown. Curse them all. Rest in pieces.

This week wasn’t good to me in particular, and I bet it was trash for some of you folks out there, too. To the Week 10 winners…

For real though, nice win this week. Good for you.

It’s hard to imagine we are this far into the 2024 fantasy football season. Sad to see that the end is around the corner, especially for those teams that won’t be making the playoffs this year.

The AGS podcast drops weekly throughout the 2024 fantasy football season and highlights all of the action that takes place among the 12 teams in the world’s best fantasy football league—Any Given Sunday. Episode 12 is dedicated to our guy, Rudy.  The Pod Squad reacts to Quan’s waiver wire revelation, chops up the Week 10 matchups and previews the upcoming Jake Paul/Mike Tyson fight.
