Round one of the AGS playoffs was a flex for the league’s best.

I saw a lot of memes and comments about the shoch and awe that some fantasy football players experienced in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Their 10-3 or 9-4 squads were unceremoniously bumped from the playoffs by lesser squads that sported sub .500 records. A lot of those games weren’t even close thanks to guys like Devante Adams and defenses like the Broncos or Chiefs. I was on the losing end of the AGS consolation playoff thanks to Adams and Rodgers showing us vintage Green Bay Packers touchdown passes back when they played on a better team. If Cooper motherfucking Kupp sold you out this week, I feel your pain.

To the winners, congratulations. You are one step closer to your dream while the rest of us losers are one step closer to the edge. The darkness of the offseason is nigh. That’s not Father Christmas on the roof of your house. That’s the Grim Reaper.

The AGS podcast drops weekly throughout the 2024 fantasy football season and highlights all of the action that takes place among the 12 teams in the world’s best fantasy football league—Any Given Sunday. In Episode 17, Sugandese joins the Pod Squad, and they recap Round 1 of the 2024 playoffs, the consolation bracket, and some other random stuff.
